This is a lovely shot - I particularly like the light and overall composition. However, I don't get an impression of texture - which is about touch - at all.

simply wonderful, no photoshop tricks, just a good eye and a rapid finger, really I love it....in black&white it could be a photo of henry cartier bresson. Compliments

I'm not seeing this as an exploration of texture so much as pattern. As a candid it works well for me but I don't think it is really suitable for this challenge.
