It's grainy. It's a little blurry. It's intentional -- snakes supposedly see \"better\" with their tongue than with their eyes. Was trying to create a snake's eye view.

Normally I might knock the graininess of a shot like this, but for this shot and this challenge, I think it is perfect! Reallt conveys the topic well, I think. Nice composition too. Well done.
The composition of this shot is excellent. I like the black and white as well. After I looked at this photo the first time, I didn't care for the grain, but as I look at it in more detail, I like it along with the motion blur of the mouse. It almost makes me feel like i'm the snake waiting to eat :) I bet this would look really neat with an IR filter or conversion as well :) great shot! = 9 - jmsetzler
I see it! I like this. I wonder if the little guy knows where he's headed-looks like it here. Personally, I like the softness/texture of the photo. I see - the softness and the seemingly gentle hand and then, the terror/fear of what's coming. Great Work!!!! I think this is excellent! Ruthann
what a cutie! I don't know how people can feed those adorable little things to ugly old snakes. The detail is pretty much lost here...poor image quality. Great idea (even though it tears me up)...the cropping is perfect too. 8 Lisa
Hehehehe. Poor little guy. Wonder who is more afraid, him or the ones viewing the picture that are afraid of mice/rodents? :-) For me personally, I would have liked a little sharper focus, just so you could see his face better. I like the space at the bottom. It gives a feeling of falling. karmat
I thought of doing a similar shot, but didn't have the live mouse. I was imagining a closer shot of the mouse's face, with a snake approaching in the background. I like how the reptile is implied here, and also how you have positioned the subject (white background works well too). Good job!
