Taken during a strange day on the coast, when storms raged just a few miles away inland all day, and we had little but fine weather; clouds like this hung over the beach all day.

One of those pictures you never quite know what to react to. The stark minimalism of the people against the towering clouds makes for a great composition. You did a very good job in post processing bringing that out. You pulled as much out this image as possible.
there is some amazing contrast in this photo. first off obviously just with the difference in lighting between the clouds and the earth, but also how drab the land looks in comparison to the clouds, which seem like they're ushering in an heavenly host.
