Such a great composition! I don't understand the 4 and the 5s (or 6s for that matter) - or maybe they were coming from the competition, lol.

Congrats on the blue with a great image!

I do not make much of a presence on this website but first and foremost I loved your Water II entry and am thrilled you won a blue ribbon. Secondly, I just had to make a post challenge comment because otherwise I would be the only DPC'r left in the Northern Hemisphere who hadn't. With greatest respect, congratulations.
Post actions
I love this shot and am very jealous of the scenery bear has at his disposal! Good job once again.
Post actions
Bear... congrats on your well-deserved and long-overdue blue!!!
Post actions
Beautiful shot, congratulations!
Post actions
you know bear, i keep coming back to this winning photo of yours - not a norm for me (in the exception of JJBeguin's self-potrait). I was thinking of something for the Textures IV challenge and was thinking - this "Flood Tide & Cattails — Sunset" could have been a hell lot better looking if allowed the 720pixels and 200kb requirements.
Post actions
I haven't had time till now, but better late than never, congrats to your win. An awesome image, respect!

Congrats Bear,

Holy crap Batman, Robert finally won his second ribbon and it's a blue even! Where the hell have I been for the last week to have missed this awesome shot! What can I say. The lines are incredible! The sunset is beautiful but isn't the subject of the shot. The reflections, the foreground focus... Kudos!

Post actions
WTG Bear on you first blue. Excellent job, great colours and composition.
Post actions
Congratulations on your first blue, Robert. This was one of my favorites. The movement of the grasses gives adds another element to what would otherwise appear a perfectly serene image---it makes one realize that those clouds reflected in the water may have blown over in a few minutes or even a few seconds, capturing the feeling of how fleeting a beautiful sunrise can be.
Post actions
Congrats Bear. You did it again! Enjoy the ribbon.
Post actions
Congratulations on the blue. This is a terrific shot. I love, love, love the colors!

Congratulations, for starters :) What I think makes this image special is the reflected height of the clouds that you can't see in the sky itself... gives it a great sense of depth and draws me right in. Of course the colors, the warm glow on the cattails, the scene itself are all marvelous. Congrats again, great win.

Oil painting and the cattails are glowing.

Boy do I like this shot. The cattails soaked in the golden sunlight really make this for me. The sky reflecting in the small water ripples reminds me of the brush strokes to a painting. My top pick for this challenge. 10

Whose hogging all the sunsets? Stunning once more. I know, maybe there are sections of the world that are still suck in winter "drab" because you are sucking all the color to your spot. Good luck.
