This guy is a homeless man looking for some spare change downtown Toronto.
You just see him standing there, spinning around and twitching and everyone who walks by him looks down or turns their head.
I talked to him and asked him if it was okay I took his picture and he said in a sort of jumbled voice "yeah. yeah. take it. take more pictures take more pictures this has to get out. take more, take more." I gave him some change in my pocket and he was very thankful.
This is wonderful...it is moving and as JeffChan said, what you wrote about this man being totally ignored is a sad commentary on humanity...your Toronto images are stunning.
Oh damn! Wow, i know this guy! Ive seen him a few times downtown. I believe it was on queen? Damn, i love this photo because I remember wishing I had my camera when I saw him. Dont think it would have turned out like this though. The way you got him to stand out of the crowd in a "highlighted" manner is amazing, because it seems to reverse the way that he is treated on the streets. On the other hand, when walking by, you also cant help but look. This is definitely going in my favs!
Amazing, really..ever heard the song sung by nancy Griffith that goes 'Can ya spare a dime, can ya spare the time..can ya please look me in the eye..' it is very moving and I can hear her singing as I look upon this powerful image.
Great photograph... You've really captured the right moment here, and the post is spot-on for the subject. Close-in crowds are tough to photograph, but this is exceptional.
This photo creates the kind of emotion that I try and capture, but rarely do. Joey, you are a master at creating art. I look forward to seeing your name in lights somewhere, someday, bravo.
You have a soulful connection to the universe, my young man. You have a kindness and touch those with your beautiful images. This darling man looks elfen. I hope he has a better place in his next life's journey!!!
Joey - you inspire me to be a better person. Man, this is so amazing. If it were any more perfect, I'd think it was made up!!
