It's a Canadian penny. Shot with my Sigma 105mm F2.8 Macro lens. I thought this fill the frame challenge would be a piece of cake. This is the only thing I could think of!

Thanks for the drink mag. Nothing like a cold one in the morning.
Thanks for all the generous votes and comments. Well this is my 5th greem ribbon (fourth place). The good news: it's a civic holidy in New Brunswick, so I might just start drinking early. lol.
I think you should've won simply because this is a CANADIAN penny! Well, you definetly deserved your placing simply because this is a great shot! Congrats!
Excellent. You can see exactly what it is without having to be shown too much. Good balance between what we see and what we don't. Very good composition. This is the best shot I've seen so far - well done.
Very nice shot, has this been duotoned? Nicely captures the detail on the surface and just the right amount of light to give a metallic shine but not being blown out at all. Really a good job, good luck with it.
this has got to be jacko. ;) i love this shot! the detail is amazing and the tone is wonderful. one of these days, you've got to tell me how you get this color so i can be a copycat and use it in one of my photos! great photo....10
