Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
"Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost
I think that ice berg has my name on it!

Great mix of textures, warm & cold color tones, and a very interesting environment for the viewer. Really beautiful scene that you made pop in so many ways - and in so many areas. Amazed at how you were able to combine such diametrically opposed properties of color, textures, and light so well. Good job.
I'll be honest, this was not one of my favorite pictures from this challenge. Ive tried to figure it out b/c i really like sea and waterscapes so these feelings are a departure from the norm for me.
With a second examination of your pic, i guess my lack of attraction to this scene is the dominating foreground with its wild texture and color. This is not a very soothing photo like many seascapes. But then, it does fit your title well. I did give it a 6 during voting so i didn't totally slam it, it's just that normally a photo like this would garner a 7 or higher from me.
Just my .02 and honestly the picture is growing on me a little as i sit and ponder.
Great job! And you didn't even have to use your Pug to do it. That is what I like to see. Votes by creativity and good photos and not by using a trademark Pug to get them. :)
it's a strange feeling to click on an image and have it almost perfectly represent what i've been trying to visualize but have never quite been able to. 10. i love this image.
