First Impression - the most important one: Ok your commentators are right ... a slight rotation would have fixed the horizon ... it really does bug people when this is not done.
Composition: Once the horizon dealt with the image would nicely play on the thirds lines ...
Subject: Well it does meet the challenge in a unique way ...
Technical (Colour and light):
To grow its vote?: Always take the time to straighten ... and always take the time to consider what other people may pick on in an image ... this helps out ... trust me :)
