I think the two heads plus hand make for a great composition AND an exciting layering effect. I would have scored this high.

Yes and no. It has a "caught at the moment" feel, yet it is vibrant, fills the frame and I actually like that sense of it. I think it would have done pretty well. The yellow bandana really draws the eye in from the thumbnail to the whole image.
