Hand held a work light, with a 25w red bulb, pointing up at the glass for about 4 seconds on each side. Then turned on a flashlight pointing straight down at the ice, which was colored blue with food coloring, for about 3 seconds.

Conclusion: This is above average composition which is good "technically" but the relation to challenge theme is hard to make out. The "subject" is beautiful but similar colour background it not letting the subject stand out (though the gradient is kind of cool). Technically the photo is well executed as no details are lost but needed more work on aesthatics to make it more interesting.
