Collection:Agave Plants Camera:Kodak DX6490 Location: In one of my neighbours garden at L.M.H.P. Date: Feb 24, 2006 Galleries:Abstract, Nature Date Uploaded: Feb 25, 2006
This is a type of succulent, which grows so well here in Australia.....
It is very sculptural, and has wonderful lines & curves.
It could nearly pass as Abstract as well. I hope you enjoy one of my very colorful "favorite" images in my portfolio.
This image, was "Kodak" Photo of the Day, and shown on the "Kodak" big screen Picture Gallery, in New Yorks "Times Square" on the 3rd. May 2006.
On the 25-10-2006, my image called "Agave Blue" reached a personal milestone for me.
It reached the magical number of "100 favorites" for an image, selected by our DPC members.
The member who helped to make one of my DPC dreams to come true, was

I chose this as my fave before reading any of your or the others comments!! It is just lovely! Very simple lines and context, great color, yet powerful! Wonderful!
Sherryl, you know its cruel showing me an image like this for critique! however, I like nothing better than being given a great shot to try to improve on.
When I first saw this shot I thought the main leaf should have more detail in it but am now thinking it would detract from the overall feel of the shot.
Keeping the square crop you chose I'd have liked to have seen the bottom left leaf curve comlete and maybe if there were enough leaves I think a 30% increase in the height of the image would have worked better?
This wonderful "favorite" image of mine, is going to be "Kodak" photo of the Day, and shown on the "Kodak" Picture Gallery, in New Yorks -"Times Square" on the 3rd. May 2006.
I think the lines on the image are flawless and the colors work. Somehow I get a very feminie sexual feel from the photo. Maybe it is the color. It is very soft and fluid like that of a womans body, but as we all know tough as nails. (After all it is women who go through child birth) Agave grown here in NM as well, actually we share a very similar climate with Australia.
I just stumbled across this photo in one of the "favorite photo" threads. This is completely stunning. I'm adding it to my favorites. I've seen agave many times, but you captured something incredible here.
These would make amazing huge prints. I know they can print to big canvases...I am sure there would be a definite market for these in art shops throughout Austraila. You should look into this with a framing/gallery type business because you have a unique work kere and a style that is all yours
I am just astounded by the number of members who have chosen my image "Agave Blue" to thier favorites.....
It now has 37 + 2 = 39 favorites in total so far. Thank-you all so much as it means so much to me.....
I only wish I knew about the "Square Crop" challenge a couple of days before announced, as I could have entered this "image" into that, but just two days to early.....
I have seen this photo go by the recently commented on page many times in the last 2 days. I finally had to stop and leave a comment myself. This is just stunning. The combination of colors here is so soothing and pleasing to the eye. This would look so pretty hanging over a bed or something.
"WOW" everyone, You make me feel so very honored to have choosen this image as a "FAVORITE".....Thank-you so much. This is "my favorite" also, and this one is the same as my other "Agave BLue", but now has been re sized and framed with a new border.....
"WOW'..."WOW"..."WOW".....You people from "DPC" just "ROCK".....I have just seen all the new comments. and now I also have "14" favorites as well......THANK-YOU from the bottom of my HEART.....
Shez, this has to be your signature photo! I think you should have entered it in 'Painting with Light" the way the light dances here and there on that stunning image! At first glance, it almost looks like soft smoke in tones of blues and lavenders.
This is also going straight to my favorites folder!
I can"t believe the interest this new image of mine called Argave Blue". It has achieved in only two to three hours, more than 15 comments, plus made it into your favorites 8 times..... I was very pleased with it but you guys/girls have made very happy..... WOW...WOW...WOW.....
I think you have found you knack. Very good images. I am so glad you decided to pick up a camera. I love the colors and the border on this. Very pretty image.
It is exactly out of the camera "CROPPED" and followed the usual steps re submitting it into my portfolio.....I knew what I wanted when I first photographed it.....
