Not sure if it's a trend, but it's funny! Guess he was a little toasted. Good metering for the night shot, no overexposed elements or bad reflections. Wish you would have let us see his face, probably more funny!

overall, the crop is strange and the flash really ruins the image, as well as emphasizing the lovely stains on the ground. my attention is actually more focussed on the upper torso than what you intended.
