I like the negative space. Try putting the candle in one of the lower thirds--that will add interest and imply that the blackness goes beyond the photo. Nice idea.

So simple, yet very powerful. I have tried this myself with a single candle, but couldn't make it so clear and free of distractions. Good shot.
