very nice shot. i like the colors, refelections and the abstact pattern inside the ice. good "transparency". maybe a little more DOF would be better, because the lower part of the ice cube is blurred.
Good subject choice and composition. If you waited a minute so you had a slightly larger accumulation of water under the ice cube it might have been even better.
Ice is a great subject. I am assuming you were going for the bubbles inside and not whatever is on the other side of the cube. Maybe, just maybe, removing the car from the background, would have been nice, otherwise GREAT! Photo 8 Transparency 8 total 8 swash
Well, I expected to see ice in this challenge. I won't say the "C" word because I don't believe in it :)) First of all, I don't believe you could have done a better job photographing this ice cube. I even like the way you have positioned it in the frame. The lighting is also very appealing to me. The surface reflections on top of the ice are just amazing :) I originally gave this shot a 7 on the first vote, but as I come back through to comment, I sometimes adjust the score. I can't see any reason that this photo should not have a 10 this week :) Good work! - jmsetzler
Nice macro image. I like the way the out of focus background accentuates the ice cube, giving it the emphasis it needs without a color difference. The only thing I would have done is to have a little more DOF so the near edge of the cube would be more in focus. 'Food' shots are hard, especially if they're frozen. You might have tried setting up with one cube, then changing to the 'real' one for the final shot, unless you wanted the slightly melted look. Nice job. Sheyingshi88.
