2 - For a shot like this to work, it has to have something interesting behind it, be it a pattern, shape or object, etc in my opinion. Also, either perfect symmetry or 'offset' of the blinds would have helped this. The lighting coming through also dominates this in my opinion.
Not much of a focal point here. The light coming through the blinds is pretty harsh there in the center. Maybe you could have used the blinds to frame a scene happening outside?
Nice attempt at something linear and abstract. I find the bright light in the center of the frame very distracting. The way the blinds are partially open creates lines in various widths.
