I almost always take a pic of these birds when we go to the zoo because I think they just look cool but I have yet to come out with one that is even close to having the impact this one has. Great shot.
I also feel that you were robbed with this image, as it deserved a much higher score..... i don't think these are ugly birds, but a wonderful textured and colorful bird. I really like the play of light and dark, on this image.
Well, this one is certainly one of the best in the Challenge Wildlife II. The compositon is wonderful, as the title says "peek-a-boo", you created that effect by composition, which is such great. I love the play of light (which also adds to the peek-a-boo effect) and the droplets of water make it realistic and even more detailed. Great job!
the shadows and highlights with that overall red color are great in this pic
also the waterdrops on the wing add interest
only the focus is a little bit weird and the wings look noisy

The bright spot of sunlight is a bit distracting, and too much detail is lost in a very important part of the picture. Like the colours and composition.
