My wife threatened to kill me for stoking up the fireplace in July, but I liked this idea... Snowball was made with a shaved ice machine. A tad of saturation added, cropped a bit and some unsharp mask applied at the end.
I like this one and really hope it does well... But that's always been the kiss of death for me so I'm guessing I'll get around a 5.2 :)

Nice idea. I missed the snow ball at first - would like to see a composition that focuses in more of the snowball. It would look more like hell if we couldn't see the brisk at the back of the foreplace. I like the leaping flames andI like the colors in the flames - that purple at the bottom looks cool - I mean hot.
This one had me chuckle. Took me a while to actually FIND the snowball though - I think you would have done better taking a flash with a snoot - or even just a torch - and lit up the snowball further. 8 for the idea and execution though.
