Wish I had seen this photo before now. How can anybody not know who Warren Miller is? This shot is fantastic, you have created a very Warren Miller scene that is truely a tribute not only to him but to your own skill in shooting a very tough shot to get. Seeing that snow is making me want snow now so i can go do this. Both actually, ski and shoot. Great shot.
An interesting image of a crashing skier whose fate is uncertain. Strong composition--the subject is well placed, the diagonals add energy. The tonal range is pleasing although, like one of your commenters mentioned, I prefer to see a little more depth--perhaps if the blacks on the skier were just a bit stronger it would add a bit more power to the subject which is small relative to the frame. There is much to like about this image and the voters must agree given the scores you received. It seems to need something to push it over the slightly above average range, however. As for the tribute subject I'm not familiar enough to be of much help--a quick peek at the website provided by one of your commenters seems to reveal a higher-contrast style in color...but your expression has its own presence. Overall, a difficult subject well captured. Keep shooting.

Beautiful mountains and nice timing - too bad the skier is somewhat obscured. Overall image feels too gray, maybe suffers from some flare and snow mist? Wish for more blacks and better foreground sharpness.
I love his movies and his cinematography. Photos through the eyes of Warren Miller is best described by the photo that is in front of my screen. What a wonderful capture. The virgin snow, the dizzying heights, the pureness of the colors... all point to a man we all know so much. As a suggestion, the crop could be improved by placing the subject in the thirds and not so much to the right in addition to an adjustment of levels and curves. Great job and keep up the great work.
Radical! What an assignment shot you have here. Great exposure and tack sharp! Great action..is he falling? I would have liked to have seen a little more contrast though..Just a smidge.....
