I am still in the process of “bonding” with my new D200 camera. Process is going well, but it’s work in progress.
What better challenge than “Tribute” to continue the process?
I have always enjoyed cityscapes. One photographer who excels at them is Henri Silberman. He is an American photographer, born in Paris. In his teenage years, Silberman became fascinated by photography and has subsequently made a highly successful career from his talent and skills, especially in the field of New York urban landscapes. You can Google Henri Silberman to see his work but you may want to simply go to this link: //www.postercheckout.com/PictureGroup.asp?ArtistID=7460&Source=GoogleSilberman
In any event, this photo is in homage to Henri. I hope you enjoy this photo of the city where I live, but from a non-traditional perspective. I am sorry to say it was raining today. It’s rained 77 of the last 78 days in Seattle. One of Seattle’s charms, I fear.
In general, I like color photos. If God had intended we shoot in B&W, He would have never invented Kodachrome, but I digress. In this case, B&W fits the city's mood in the rain.
I hope you can enjoy and appreciate this.

What I like is the busy foreground, then the unbusy skyscrapers -so smooth, linear, and then the wonderfully similarly toned sky with cloud. Never seen any composition like it, though indeed have probably passed this on the highway, it is very vaguely familiar.
This is a nice view of this City that i haven't seen before. I think the brush in the foreground while there for scale and definition, seems a bit distracting. The placement of the skyline is great although the horizon seems like it wants to be lower so as not to cut the image in half. A bit of burn in the clouds and I think you have a great tribute image here. Great work my friend. 7
Central foreground looks sharp and contrasty with lots of detail, but this seems lost in the central background, maybe due to atmosphere? Nice composition, and makes me miss Seattle some.
I'm not familiar with Silberman, but you did a very nice tribute photo. The lighting and conrast are great. Inspires me to look more into the photographer. Well done!
