I just find this completely intriguing...it has such a surreal quality...I like the blurred background contrasted against the crispness of the figure...very interesting...and the way the red lips really pop on the "Memoirs of a Geisha" poster, a nice touch.
This is stretching the boundaries of the challenge but it squeaks by in my opinion because the idea is very clear from the photo (even without the title).
I'm willing in this case to accept all the faces on the promos as a crowd since the use of minimal DOF has effectively isolated the man from all those faces peering out at the viewer. Clever.
Not convincing within the challenge quidelines, good lines, gausen blur? nice, lighting ok especially on subject, red lips could be distracting but subjects line of sight makes it ok, dof good,
Ahhhh post processed DOF. That's fine. Next time just feather it so the guys outline is not too sharp compared to the background. I like the idea and the way the lips stand out. 6
interesting. like the idea of leaving her lips red. i'm not sure about keeping the left third of the image, as it feels distracting to me and your impact. perhaps feathering your blur selection would have made the outline around the subject a bit cleaner
I like the post processing here, but I wonder why you didn't leave the geisha poster sharp. Granted, the red lips do make it stand out, and maybe that was the compromise to keep from getting too far away from the challenge's idea.
