This was the ~10th exotic to pass the school bus in a matter of minutes - we were all traveling to a Italian car show in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The show is at Lonsdale Quay every father's day - so if you're in the area stop by next year!

I never did comment on this, but I gave this an 8. One of my favorite DPC images. Excellent example of timing to provide a classic photograph. I just wish I could see this bigger, mainly to get a good look at the boy's face. I had a look at your other images on your site and you have some very fine examples of photography. This is your only entry at DPC so you may never see this comment, but I hope you do - one day. Perhaps you'll make a poster from this, with this title (which I prefer over the one you had for it on your site) - I think it is a perfect fit. The only thing in this image I think might 'improve' on it would be a more refined crop to the left (and maybe the bottom), but minor and .. not sure as any adjustment might lose too much of the good context. Thanks for putting this on DPC. It's a classic, in my opinion.
great capture, nice titleing, good color, great lines, nice dof, comp needs work, blacks need work, whites need tweeking, light flat, overall a good attempt
nice combination of dreadful boring gray and vibrant yellow.
The schoolboy in the backseat is a masterstroke.
I guess this is a photo that ppl either like (like I do) or don't like/get at all.
lol - yep the boy in the back of the bus sure loks longily at that sports car.
I like the low angle you shot this at. The curves of the bridge structure really pull this together.
haha.. so it is. Nice shot. A little too plastic for my tastes, and I wish the expressions on the children could be seen.. or that connection was stronger.
I like the use of selected desaturation here. The yellow of the car and the bus are a good way to bring the piece together. I think the bus is slightly too close to the edge of the frame but that's just a minor point :)
It is quite possible this was a precariously dangerous shot to take especially if you were the driver - but this is a photo opportunity that does not come around easily so the photographer's eye was working at full speed to recognize this:-) The yellow hues of both vechicles establish a relationship between them that goes beyond them just being modes of transportation. They are nearly side-by-side. One is a sporty racy car and the other is the lumbering school bus. I can see a face in the back window that when you attach the title of thie piece to the overall elements present the meaning is instantly recognized. A boy daydreams of the day of owning a cool car like this...his mind is not at all focused on education at the moment:-) My biggest critique on this piece is that there is too much empty space surrounding the main focus/objects that they become lost in it and focus is drawn away from what you want us to really notice. The composition would be greatly strengthened if you tightly crop the frame to just have the two automobiles fill 90 % of the frame. This would also help us to see that face pressed upon the window of the bus as it seems to be looking at the sporty car passing by.
