Laurie, this is AWESOME! My mom has a cat that looks exactly like this. She is 17, almost 18 years old!!! In fact, she outlived my mom. Its a great, colorful photo!
Oh those eyes and pink nose! And what a fun little collar...I know my cats would probably never tolerate such a thing..then again I haven't really tried anything...lately. : }
Some people complain about the overuse of pet shots, but I love cat shots. This cat is a perfect subject on the white background, and what a fun and whimsical scarf collar, that just screams "burst of color!" It looks a tad over saturated with the ears, eyes and nose, but it's just so cute that it still gets a 10! One of my favorites from the challenge. Well done!
Now THAT is original. Nice clean picture, good focus and DOF but still capturing the collar nicely. If anything I might have liked to see the collar as more of a focal point with the face.
Still, I love it!
I like how her head floats in a circle of color. Even though there is more white than color her green eyes, pink ears and pink nose add just enough color in addition to the scarves to make it about color.
A sweet shot - well done! This is a very agreeable cat - mine would never let me get such a shot - must have been tricky for you. I like the collar framing the face - works perfectly with the white fur to draw our eyes to the lovely green of the cats eyes - good use of color! There is an odd bit of gray in the top left corner - a shadow or the cat's tail - it is a bit distracting. Forgot to say how I like the pink ears and nose!
WOW - those are some eyes. What if you did a selective color adjustment and removed some of the black from the kitty's coat (white)? Or maybe a slight adjustment of contrast would work too. The focus is tack sharp and I like how the whiskers show up with the ribbons of color as their backdrop.
