A nice capture. Unfortunately where I live the Canada Goose has become a problem bird, they mess on everything. And by the waves circling outward he is simply drying his wings...not landing.
Nice capture, love the details to the feather, especially on the wings. Good color and lighting. I would have preferred the picture to be longer instead of taller with more empty water in front of the bird, of course that is just my opinion and I don't know what you had to work with. Overall and great photo.
From experience, I know how difficult this is to capture. The texture and detail in the wings is incredible. Only thing I don't like is the rather dull nature of the water. Try using some creative methods to give the water some more color and life.. maybe a sunset glow or a boost of some kind.
