How in god's name do you get so close to them? I thaught that they have a really good sense of smell and that the only way to get clse to them is if you don't shower hehe
I can hardly wait to see your "Best of 06" image! I would bet that your heart pounding when you made this capture.
I wonder how this would look PP'd with "Gothic Glow" as Jutilda used on her image "Down the Road" to get the "glowing" effect?
The subjects: Extraordinary!
The detail: Exquisite
The color: Gorgeous!
The light: Magical!
Why was this NOT a ribbon winner??????
Still scratchin' my head...
I have been searching for the perfect deer picture for our new home and this is it! I have tried to order a print from this site, but can not access it. Can you please tell me where I can order a print? Please send me an email if possible to mckinneynoles@yahoo.com. This is truly the most beautiful deer photo I have ever seen. Thank you.
Nice shot... was this a multiple exposure of the same deer as he was moving towards you with some touchups on the facial markings and antlers as to make them look a tad different?
I remembered when this was shown in the forum. I was happy to see you placed so well with it. You are on a roll. 2 on the front page and a 6th place with this one. Great job!
Another great shot. Congratulations :).
I think you could add a bit more contrast to your image if you tone down the yellow cast in the floor greenery.
I always show my kids the top 10 photos I rate in challenges... they saw this and said, "thats not a photograph, thats a painting." Doesnt look like there is too much editing, which makes it all the better. You should be proud, great capture, 10.
This totally rocks. It seems brighter than the version you had originally posted. I find this one a tad too bright. I will be very disapointed if this doesn't finish top-10. A 10 from me. Good luck.
Wow. My absolute favourite! The fact you captured 4 studs, but the colours and feeling are just amazing. Beautiful. Don't know what more can I say. (I would have cropped off a tiny bit more from the bottom)
Excellent shot! The framing by the trees, the colour, the symmetry, all make this worthy of more than a 10. But I'm afraid a 10 is all I can give you. Oh, and a fav.
alex this is such a wonderful shot! truely captivating- i love the deep colors, the way the deer seem to pose for you- everything about this shot is perfect! richmond park is an amazing place, when im home our house is very close so i plan to try and take some more photos there. you are an inspiration. well done on one of my favourite shots!
Enchanting colours and light. Very nice composition. Just can't put a finger on it but there's something not quite right. Apologize if I'm wrong but did you layer in the stags?
I keep coming back to this photo. So, can't help bumping it up ; )
The autumn tones really set the mood of this image..... It is quite magical. I love the way the deers are all centered individually in the middle. Well done, great image. I also love the misty background.
Great capture, unusual lighting, good focus. Hope you didn't stick around too long as they do NOT seem pleased with your presence LOL. That front deer really seems cranky. Really well done, a photo to be very proud of, Good luck
Reminds me of Bambi. I try to shoot deer all the time and am usually unsuccessful. Would have liked it a tad better if forground had also been in focus, but all around very well done.
This still is an incredible shot. You made my desktop wallpaper of the moment again and one of my few faves during challenge. Incredible golden tones set the mood.

What a magestic and truly inspiring image. It;s as if you got the cooperation of all the subjects in this very beautiful capture. The colors were really enhanced here and for this image it works perfectly... Well done... :)
I don't know what I envy most, the photograph or the fact you had the opportunity to take this wonderful photograph. I think this would make a great print too.
My only complaint with this is the forground. I'd crop it more to get rid of the busy out of focus area as much as possible without crowding the deer. From the deer up this photograph is magical. I gave it an 8 for that reason.
Woah! Is this real? What increadible light and colors - all at the moment 4 bucks arrive on the scene! Nice composition as everything seems to converge toward the bottom center. I like the out of focus forground - it place the viewer in the middle of this remarkable moment without distracting.
oh---this is beautiful...love the colors....the positions of the animals is perfect...love the unfocused foreground....my favorite so far...a well deserved 10, and a photo I will come back to and view again...
I have seen this shot in the forums...absolutely beautiful to look at. Gorgeous creatures in an almost surreal setting. Still can't believe you were able to get such a wonderful shot. Very lucky!
When I give a photo a 10, it is because I feel it is wonderfual all the way around. Therefore, I have no real comment other than to say I gave you a 10!
You could not ask for a better opportunity to happen in your backyard - this is really a wonderful capture. I absolutely love all the warm autumn colors seen here in this photo and the deer. The deer all stand there with their majestic antlers standing watch over their realm.
I would love to hear the story about this and how you were able to get the pic. 10 all the way, and my pick so far. I would love to have a print of this as well. I can't wait til the challenge is over. Can you pm me the story behind it?
