fabulous photo - great from the exposure through the editing. Thanks for posting the original - I think it's really valuable for many of us. I hope to someday have processing skills at your level.
But, Lesley, this isn't even a portrait LOL! This could not have been easy to capture and retain details in the highlight areas, did you bracket like crazy? Anyway, absolutely beautiful.
Leslie: every time I commnet on the top placings I see Leslie. You are indeed a special talent and can deliver the most beautiful images. Congratulations on your top ten finish.
Great landscape, although the foreground is just a little intrusiveon that horizon and the burning has gone too far in places. I feel that this won't be strong enough to do well in Burst of Color though. Love the sky detail.
Very impressive editing! I'd be interested in seeing the original, and what steps you took to get the effect here. I'm guessing the original wasn't nearly as interesting as the end result.
Inspiring landscape you've captured here. I love the deep DOF and detail throughout. Curious to see your lens and camera settings at the end of this challenge. The high contrasts and interplay of lighting and shadows really give this an almost storybook feel. IMHO the shot looks slightly tilted CCW. Not sure if this is just a result of using a wide angle lens? Also not sure if that vignetting around the edges and corners is intentional, but it works well for me regardless. Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless.... 8
can't decide how i want to desifer (spelling???) this...i can see the flowers as a burst, the grass as a burst, the clouds as a burst, or the blue way in the back as a burst....but I like the clouds the best, so that is my burst of color that I see in your photo! Nice angle!!! 10
This one is very nice. Good job with dodging and burning. This one made me sit up in my chair. I wish the hills were a little more green and a little less yellow, but this one is very good.
What an exquisite shot. I've sat here, however, for at least 60 seconds pondering the impact of the colors. I can't say there is a ton. This would still be almost as good in B&W, and that doesn't bode well. I'm gonna have to drop it to a 6. :( Just know that a) I think it's a great shot and b) I put a deal of thought into it. The voter has spoken.
This is a beautiful shot. Will have to add to my faves. But I don't really see a "burst" of color that stands out from the rest of the photo for the challenge.
A gorgeous photo! Love the saturation and the sky! The whole thing is just wondeful! A lot of the colors though are neutral, and don't really pop, but this is going in as one of my favs nonetheless! I would definately hang this on my wall.
EDITED TO ADD: I am going to guess this was done by goodman? I will find out after challenge.
Very pretty, and a top ten in any other challenge for sure...I hope the literal-minded voters don't vote you down for the colors being rather subtle and subdued. Gorgeous! :)
