An old "night light" I received for Christmast one year. Basically a bunch of very thin plastic threads lit from below by a rotating, psychadelic light source. The light moves through the plastic and illuminates the tips much like fiber optics.
This is very effective! I love the different colours you have coming through here against the dark background.
edit: Well done for your first photo! I actually came back to see how this one had done as it caught my eye both as the thumbnail when I first looked at it and again when I voted.
