I must be in my abstract period, hehe.
Cristal "teardrops" from an antique chandelier shot in front of an LCD screen.

Yes, this IS a cliché DPC type of image which has been milked repeatedly. It was DPC sparked my interest for this type of image and I thought I might as well give it a try too...

This picture is worth weighing with GOLD.This impressed me best out of the lot when I voted 10.CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! with many tear drops to come in future.
This has the same quality as the others like this that did well. Now since DPC members love this type of shot sooo much how about creating a challenge just for it? That way everyone can get it out of their system? ;)
Good reproduction of a classic effect, however, in the context of this challenge, the dramatic use of patterns in your background obscurs the "teardrop" shapes which you wanted to emphasize. In this case simple would have been better.
Lovely colors and interesting shapes are present in this 'abstract' presentation. I like how the white circles are repeated and captured in the glass 'teardrop' shapes. My critique is that this composition could be improved if the presentation was a tighter crop - say a square crop that would bring the eye into a tighter focus on 'teardrop' shape. I think that too much of the 'stem' is present in the picture and it really doesn't need to be for it draws attention away from the main focus which is the teardrop shape containing all those sharply focused circles.
Nice effect. The colors are great. I am thinking about how to use this. The dark areas are interesting to me. The DOF helps keep the focus on the forground. Good luck.
