It's summer and the butterflies are hatching but rarely land still for more than a second or so to take a shot. This one stayed long enough for me to run inside, get the camera and take just 2 shots - then she was gone.

Gorgeous colors, meets the challenge, nice compostion. The only criticism I have is that it seems ever-so-slightly out of focus (except the antennae are perfect!).
What does this have to do with the challenge? Good pic but if it's too vague to understand easily or just doesn't apply the score is going to be low. 3
Beautiful photo. It would probably do very well in a different photo. The connection to motherhood just isn't obvious enough I think. But still very beautiful and well done.
I just can't make the mother connection...except "moth"-er. Problem is, I believe this is a butterfly. The picture isn't too bad. I'd prefer the background to be a more neutral tone, rather than the magentas.
