The fence pattern and detail is very nice in this. I might have tried to do what I could to make the bacground as consistent as possible. You might have been able to that but only have the field or lawn in the background in this and in this you almost did in the bottom two thirds withe the exception of the tree root(?) on the lower right. A shooting the fence up to down might have worked.
i like this type of subjects, simple and utilitarian--even the rust works, but somehow the DOF could be more explored. i'd would have use the forefront of link-chain more focused. The background works well with this too.
I think the angle is a little to wide at the foreground, opening up the links a bit. The result is I get more of a sense of the background beyond the fence then the actual pattern the links make.
