Great shot with sharp details on all the coins. I like the composition with the coin's edges providing great use of line. The problem, however, is that this photo does not meet the challenge (IMHO) of shallow depth of field. Everything here is in sharp focus. Had you shot this from a slightly different angle using a smaller f/stop such that only a small part of the frame (perhaps the ridge on the California coin) was sharply focused and the rest blurred- it would have gotten a higher score from me.
It seems to me that everything in this image is in decent focus, though not quite perfect for the California, I guess. It's an interesting setup... I'm just trying to understand how it fits in with the challenge. :-)
nice pic, does not feel that is has a narrow field of depth (yes the field of depth IS very narrow, but id doesent FEEL that way). Nothing pops up as the center of interest boosted by being in the DOF. 5
