I'm wondering if you have a lot of extra background stuff to force you to crop this in a panoramic way. If there isn't a lot of stuff, I definitely would've made every effort to put this in a more normal aspect ration.
This is a neat image (and fits!), but a teenzy bit more blackpoint modification or saturation or something might have helped the snail pop off the substrate better. 7, but coulda been 9.
Lighting's pretty harsh, and not enough contrast between the snail and the ground. Having the snail do something more interesting would have been better.
