This is one of my four favorites for this challenge. Very nicely done and found on many corners of my city - others might have trouble relating this to their city .... I gave this 9 - Gotcha
Nice composition and well lit. While the person drawing is important, the drawing itself is truly the subject -- so she's lit and he's in shadow. If I had to choose something, I'd remark on the "emptier" space in the upper right corner -- but I don't think there's anyway you could crop this tighter to deal with that -- maybe you could with the original, but I just don't know.
I always save my favorite photo of the week for last :) I can't really suggest ANYTHING for improvement on this photo. I think you have done an excellent job and you have captured a beautiful aspect of city life :) There is NOTHING about this photo that needs a change :) Great shot.. my favorite of the week = 10 - jmsetzler (now i'm finished voting and commenting... buy me a beer? :)
I really like this photo. The composition especially is very striking, but also the transience of chalk art on city pavements is definitely a very interesting aspect of city life.
well done! good DOF, the chalk in the foreground and the smaller picture in the background are both sharp. the painting is in the middle that's also good. only thing distracting are the orange lines in the upper right corner. but i see that when they would be cropped out the top corner of the painting would also be cropped which actually would be worse. maybe a different angle could have helped. photo 9, creativity 8, city life 9 = 9
I've always wanted to watch one of these guys..or to be able to do it myself. Excellent photograph and I think it depicts the city street artist's life perfectly. Great job....10 --KDJohnson
wow. i've always been fascinated with these people who can do wonders with chalk. nice shot, too. great framing and i like how you got all his chalks in there and the chalked up pants. the more i look at this, the more i like it. nice capture.
I'll give you a better score than I'd give him:) This, to me, is one of the few pictures that really show the personality of the city. It tells it's story very well. Technically, good exposure and composition.
I like this alot, although I can't say why... It 'grabbed' me. The cropping on the box at the bottom was a little distracting, but all in all, I just plain like this one.
I love these sidewalk artist. Don't know where you took this but in Philly there are some really good one. This is wonderful and live the colors.Very good job, good representation of city life. Kee
Nice use of colors (even if they weren't your choice:-)) and I like the way you included the artist's leg. It gives the picture character and a sense of realness.
