Tried all sorts of shots in the park for the Shallow DOF comp - got nowhere.
Got home and put the Xmas lights on and had an idea.
I draped them across the room like a clothes line, attaching them to my tripod head, then took a series of shots focussing on one light, leaving the others to blur at F2.8.
Only edit was a crop in PS and a resize to 640 wide and a hue/sat "colourise" to get it looking purple

This is a very interesting, almost abstract, picture to me. I would've liked to see maybe one more light that was in focus...or one more that was more in focus.
