I only wonder of the red of the moon is an effect of the approaching sun. I am impressed with the choice of the moon off center. A better composition would be hard to come by. 9
Very difficult subject with a conventional lens. If you don't have access to a telescope, but are shooting with a DSLR, try putting a teleconverter between your lens and your camera. To my taste, it either needs to be razor sharp, or the frame needs to include something of interest so the moon is only adding context.
