At first glance, I get kind of a warm fuzzy feeling when I see this. The soft glow of the dimly lit room, illuminated by the glowing fire. Technically, for the lighting, I think it's pretty good. The overall image isn't tack sharp, but with the setting, it doesn't detract from the image. The perspective and angle is nice - not the straight on target in the center shot that can be less interesting than the angle from which you chose to shoot this. My main critique is that it's just plain busy. I understand that it's a fireplace mantel at Christmastime, but I think that maybe if you had removed a few of the things on the hearth and maybe zoomed in a bit on one or two objects on the mantel, it might have conveyed the same message without being quite so distracting. I might've cropped out a tad more of the lower area below the fireplace, so that the wreath wouldn't be chopped off. Just a nitpick though on that one. Overall, a pleasing "holiday card" type shot that is reminiscent of wonderful memories, for me at least. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas!!!
