Yes, this is the way skylines should be shown off. They can be interpreted to compliment shapes and colors (thus losing the boredom factor). You've interpreted this skyline well.
(For the sake of critique - I'd suggest a little 'border patrol' on the right edge to get rid of that half-a-bush in the water)
