the place of my dad's work where he restores old coke machines and gas pumps
probably the most difficult lighting i've ever messed with. I wanted sparkles and reflections on the restored machines to show their shineyness but not to have me and a some lamps I set up being reflected in the picture. :-p I ended up getting the reflections on the machines by turning on some neon lights on the other side of the room and reflecting them on the machines with a big mirror I found in there.
Another problem was getting everything exposed correctly, the light-up globes on top were a problem. They were way too bright so I pulled off the domes and put paper over them. Only for a few minutes of course, or they'd catch fire.

Love the collection but the picture is sub-par, The bright light is distracting and conflicts with the dark background. What is the dark black thing in the foreground? The tilt adds interest but at what cost? A straight shot may have enabled you to crop the dark splotch in the foreground and perhaps not cut the White rose sign at the top. 6
Joe, I think we've all gotten to the point where you cant photograph anything in your life without us recognizing it, nevertheless you always seem to do a good job of photographing it, so keep up the good work
