I gave this a 6. It is a beautiful shot, but the colors just seemed slightly over processed (but sorry if this is how it really looked). Although it seems you have applied the rule of thirds technique, with the water at the 'bottom' third and the sky/clouds in the top 2/3's (if that makes sense), I wonder if perhaps a tighter crop of the water at the bottom, (and not necessarily using the 'rule'), may have given this an edge and made it really 'pop' even more. Good to see you enter this Challenge, especially with such strong 'sunset' competition that you had to compete with.
A sinking glowing gem bathing all above and across with its mars like red glow. A sense of yearning to explore the distant shores more like foloowing the sun. Bumping up.
This sunset is very colorful and popular. But with the number of sunset photos out there us viewers become jaded and look for that something extra in the composition.
In this case, centering the horizon takes away from the shot. Pick sky or water and go 1/3 and 2/3. For this one, I'd have done 2/3 sky and 1/3 water, as the cloud formations and colors look really neat. But still, well done - some amazing color here!
Great colours, I did one the same colour cast myself a few weeks back, Would have been nice to actually have a foacl point or a lead in line i.e. some rocks scattered or in a line to lead the eye to the horizon or the orb of the sun just showing perhaps.
Another super super sunset photo. I love the strong vibrant colors and woulld love to see this every evening and never tire of it. Rates high in my book
