The yellow lighting was actually accentuated in photoshop A LOT. I wanted the shot to look a little soft.... The dollar sign was something that I could not move, though I hardly think it's as distracting as you make it out to be. I think the eye heads right for the subject on the left due to the halo around his head that I planned out. Also... it's supposed to be ODD so you wouldn't want a smooth nice photo without distractions.
Thank you for the explaination. It would have been very helpful to know what your intent was while doing the critique, since there were no photographers comments, I could only base my critique on personal opinion and guessing as to what your intent was. By your comments, I think you did a very good job at achieving what you set out to do.

There are a few things about this shot that stand out to me right away. First, the yellowness of the shot. Makes it appear to be bad lighting or the yellow balance is off or something. It kind of looks like a result of the low lighting though. This also gives the entire image a softer focus than I would like to see. Obviously, you were going for the soft focus on the person on the right, but the person on the left, and the background are also a bit soft. Not TOO soft, but I would like to see just a bit more focus throughout.
I'm not really sure I see the importance of the dollar sign. Is this something you added? Was it already there? Does it have a meaning to the photo? Without a meaning, I find it very distracting, as it's so dark and 'in your face' that I tend to just stare at the dollar sign. If it has a menaing, then I think that it's not obvious enough to me to really add anything to the photo.
The white glare in the dead center of the photo is also distracting. It creates a break in the photo. If our eyes wanted to flow through the photo, they would stop and focus on the large white spot in the center and the dollar sign.
I think the concept is interesting. One person looking at another person in the photo who doesn't come out looking like he does. Like 'what are you doing?' or 'what the heck?'. This does give me the sense of odd.

I'm not exactly sure how this photo is odd. I'm thinking it's because one model is moving like crazy, while the other is still. So I gave it a 4. The lighting isn't fantastic as well. Interesting location though.
The motion blure is good. I also like how the back light works with the hat to create a glow. I guess this classifiies for odd. I think this site could use some creative and real photographs that are NOT snapshots, so I give you props. 7.
Well, that's certainly odd, guess she's a bit of an 'airhead'.
The big white spot in the middle really isn't the best thing, but I do like the creativity and daring
This looks a bit like a snapshot, not that that's neccessarily bad. Interesting lighting, it's neat how there's a little circle around the model's head.
