good try!!! what about matte painting on the face and getting rid of little hairs behind the neck. Also more defined lines would have been better... but very good idea
Roar of the Grease Paint, Smell of the Crowd
Very good example of a more classic demonstration of camouflage.
First I like the makeup, the loop under the eye says you studied your background
I think it might have worked better of the top of the ear had been black, but just an unfortunate thing.
Second item would be of a photographic nature. The biggest failure is , in essence, the "roar of the grease panit", ie the glare off the makeup. I will be the first to admitt my knowlegde of studio lighting is zilch, my portrait work has been mostly natural lighting/available light, or in media which I could directly manipilate like charcoal. Therefore, its as much interested speculation as suggestion, but would a POL filter have worked to cut down the glare?
Third point would be framing. My first impression was to chop off the right 1/3 to bring it more in line with the RO1/3s, but can see that in this image there you could have a more powerfull statement with the "off balanced" subject.
Sorry it took is long to get your comment to you, so hopefully I said something worthwhile. BTW its a 9. and I'm very impressed by the effort you put into it.
Love the lighting and what a unique idea, certainly thinking outside the box, hope your imagination puts you in the top 10. You are definately in my top 10.
Really did well matching the pattern, esp. on the lower cheek. Nicely done, the only thing I see that is detracting is the few stray hairs, otherwise great.
Cooooooooooool! I love this. Saw it in the thumbnails and thought, this is gonna be good and I was right.
First, congrats to you or your model for being so daring and thinking about this. The lines on the wall work right into the lines on the model and blend very well. The biggest problem I'm sure you will hear about is the light glare on the paint compared to the flat tone on the wall. Being a basic challenge you couldn't seperate them and make the adjustments that way. Other than that, very well done, grand idea and you get a 9
OH WOW - I had to study that and isn't that what camo is all about????? THis is very artful. I see it in a nouveau gallery. CLEVER. The light on the face is a tad hot though. Otherwise, A for effort!!!
Overall, it's a very good shot. The loose hair should have been tucked in or add gel to get it all in. The model blends in very nicely with the background. If you could, try acrylic paint on the face, but you might end up with a more shiny complexion.
