I am so glad that your photo wasn't DQ'ed.... I would never have gotten the chance to see it... When I first looked at this shot, before reading anything, it looked like a magnificant paintbruch creating a magnificant work of art..... this is such an amazing shot that I just look at it in awe..... so stunning - if i were to have voted on it, I would give it 10++++
This anomaly was bought to the attention of the photographer in the first few days of voting and has ben consistently mentioned since by others so there was ample opportunity for this to be voluntarily withdrawn.
I realized shortly after the contest began that I had not followed the challenge rules. I emailed SC and asked for my image to be disqualified. I also posted this thread in the forums:
Was just looking at your photographer's notes and saw you used "morning sunlight" in a challenge that required a "single, artificial light source." Great shot regardless, and a fine finish.
Bear is correct. The image being commented on came 4th in the challenge. Surely this can't be correct? I know the rules say that you can't be disqualified for not meeting the challenge, but this really goes beyond that. It means that a place has been denied to someone who has followed the challenge brief - doesn't seem very fair.

My impression is that the light is coming from a sunny window (with closed blinds), so it doesn't count as "single, artificial light source", but I like the angles here, and the variety of stripes and curves.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume that's not sunshine through window blinds, but a special (artifical) lighting fixture. Love the effect!
