Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal park are now joined. The Abbey was founded in 1132 by 13 Benedictine monks and it was sacked by Henry the eighth in 1539. John Aislabie started work on the famous water gardens in 1721 which included several follies. His son finished the gardens after the death of his father in 1742 and purchased the remains of the Abbey as a suitable folly to have at the bottom of the garden in 1767.

Hi Peter, I knew this was either Pauline's or yours (not much guesswork there i guess). As I said during the voting, the central image just needs a warming filter to bring the harmony of tones into line, otherwise I really like this image.

7 - Very nice. Criticism; the title is slightly forced and unnecessarily wordy. All nice shots, especially 2/3. 2 would like to have seen more definition 'somewhere', preferably in the swan. Colors and balance in 1/3 are nice, 2 choice/arrangement works, but not sure it 'flows' with 1/3 as well as it could. To really nit-pick, get every single pixel you can, especially for this style. Up to 7 from 6.
Separately these are all great images....each of them looks lovely. I'm not sure they mesh in my mind, though I haven't been to this location. Good lighting on the photos, and I like the lines of the third frame.
Lovely pictures, all of them! I just think there are a little too close together. I would have preferred some border between them (black) to make them stand out a little more. Together like this - creates a very busy mix of images and you lose the subtilities of each.
For someone who has never been to the place in your pictures it is kind of hard to rate this. I take it these three places are all withing the Fountains Abbey? Each picture is wonderful in it's own right, I don't think they compliment each other as well as they could though. But still a very good picture..
I know who's this is - well OK one of the Ripon team ;-)
Nice images, my only comment would be that the tones in the centre one doesn't keep in step with the other two. A nice warming filter would have brought it closer in 'feel'.
Three lovely shots on their own, but together great. Might have been better with the passage way shot on the left, leading the eye into the shot but my guess is you tried it all ways. Just my thoughts, great triptych all the same.
3 excellent images, but to me they don't go together visually. The one in the middle especially disrupts the overall triptych because the outer two match up in color at least.
