The subject in this image is a crack (split) in an icy surface which looked just like an old crooked tree and the spots are leaves frozen in the ice.
This triptych is made of two separate photos, which are taken in colour and converted into tritone. In the post processing in Photoshop I also cropped, cloned, increased the contrast a bit and used curves, dodge&burn and NoiseNinja.

I love this. The black and white totally fits the cold/ice mood portrayed here. The borders between the shots could have been a bit larger even - but great capture.
I really like this. At first glance, it looks like two trees standing on a hill with the leaves blowing between. Then you read the title and realize what it really is. Very nice and Good Luck!
Somehow it bothers me that you've simply used a reversed version of the first frame in the last. Is that really nature's artwork? That niggle aside, I love the sense of toning and the overall composition, and the impressionist-landscape feel to this. Clever stuff - but just a touch too manipulated for my taste.
5 - Another shot which I am sure looks much better bigger. Very nice - what I can discern. Criticism; although the copy/flip of 1/3 works well here, I wonder if there may have been more simple beauty framing with just the original, but a different shot then, plus, would also depend how much space you had on the left to incorporate / arrange or not. The toning works but again, especially with losing so much detail, whether leaving the colors may have given this a boost at this size.
The crack in the ice is just stunning. The mood of the overall image reminds me of a Arthur Rackham, though the "tree" reminds me of an inking by another artist i can't think to name.
Anyways, very moody and beautiful.
This is exceptionally nice & pure. Very Westonesque feel to it. I hope the site likes it as well as I do, but I suspect it's a lost cause. We'll see...
