My objective with this competition was to take a picture of a piece of garbage and make it look valuable; in order to prove that not all garbage looks like garbage! My first thought was to use an old junk circuit board, but when I went to throw away this scratched DVD on my desk at work and the amazing colour rainbow caught my eye I knew I had found a better subject!
Little note here … the “DVD R +” on the edge of the DVD wasn’t viewable until I had taken the picture. Turns out you can’t see this marking unless you angle it perfectly!
-Cropped
-Darkened
-Intensified the blue to get the DVD marking to stand out a little bit more (not as much as I hoped for though

Loved this image. Nice rainbow effect. For me, thought, I do not see the connection to garbage. For the single light source challenge, I would give this one a 10, but as a garbage photo I have to bring it down to a 7
I think you have a nice shot, well done and interesting, but for me it simply doesn't work in this challenge and therefore I've given it a lower score.
