I really like this photo just for the beautiful simplicity captured in this. A single tree does stand all alone. But what adds visual interest is the divide of colors. The tree rests on the "side that is greener". It seems to look out upon the barren land beyond the green line that comprises of nothing more than the golden hues of a "wheatfield" (or perhaps it is just weeds) Either way it captures the imagery of a fertile land juxtapositioned next to a barren land. My only critique is that the colors of the landscape could be richer in hue - mayhap if this was taken in the late afternoon it would make the hues richer and bolder.
One of my favorite in the challenge so far. I really like the lines in this picture. Quite fun composition. Pity that we don't see more shadow detail in the tree in the foreground.
The divisions of color in this are so pleasing, they just lead you through the whole photo with a nice anchor of the dark tree to bring you back in. Well done. 9
Terrific. An elegant, flag-like composition where each element plays a critical role, and nothing is superfluous. A nice example of vision too, because this landscape would not have looked like this from anywhere but right here. 9.
I was really close to giving it a 6 instead of a 5. I can't quite put my finger on the problem though. The contrasting colors between the middle and the bottom is good. Maybe because that theme doesn't continue as well into the top, the impact is decreased?
I love the lines and colours of the hills. I love the fact that the hills are faded and the foreground is bright and green. The tree sets it off nicely. Well done, 10!
