Another recent challenge, wasn't a member yet so didnt' vote on this one, but, I really think it should have placed a higher than it did. My main comment is the frames, have a pretty distinct contrast between them which keeps them from flowing from L to R and makes my eyes bounce around. and I keep trying to line up the eye with the picture on the right like I'm trying to see a complete face. Maybe putting the hair pic in the middle would have helped.
My eye gets pulled to the two pics on the right. The alignment is most peculiar giving several false impressions. The jawline of the right hand one can lead into the mouth of the centre giving a surreal experience. Difficult to explain. The left hand pic does nothing for this piece.
Whilst I like the documentary sense to this series, I do feel htat a touch more care could have been taken with the final image - it looks so like the side of a man's face, rather than the same girl. Also the junction of the second and third images is a bit tricky - one's first glance is drawn to what seems a form of cubism, rather than simple illustration - which I guess is actually the point.
Neat idea. I think the crops bewteen the center and right picture are unfortunate. The line which starts down her jaw (in the right panel) seemingly curves up the other side of her face (in the center panel). This makes the brain try to "put the face together" and of course that doesn't work.
