In this image, I see a hat, but I'm not sure what I"m supposed to think after this. It's just a hat in a dark shot with little emotive quality. Perhaps a different point of view would help add to the drama or enhance the mood. I do like how you've used light to give shape to the hat in very subtle ways.
This would have been an interesting shot, but it looks like you forgot to use lighting to create a dramatic photo. Just my opinion. Try setting up the lighting on the left side of the hat and setting your exposure to -2 and then shooting. good luck.
Love the hatband! I really like that I can barely make out the edges of the hat. I would have preferred a more dynamic composition I think - I find this composition to be a bit low impact for me.
