 one of my many attempts at photographing my self in this way this is a cut out from the original- camera set on tripod on timer all editing done in photoshop

thanks for comment--i use directional spotlight with low watt bulbs and then edit lighting/filters and gradient in ps

Very intersting lighting. What did you use? A small desk lamp perhaps? Was the overall image darkened somewhat in PS? Or was the ring of shadow added in PS also? Whatever the case... there's something about the center-point of the light "source" that really works for me here. The gradient fade is just right too. Thanks. I'll try to replicate it :)
