To me this would have seemed more busy if the child was actually working on the drawing.

had this same idea but couldn't execute it, if child were holding one of the markers - not necessarily drawing or anything - it may have portrayed "busy" a little better than the hand just laying there, the shadow is a teeny bit distracting, overall - a good image though and a good idea :)
