Here I was just going to respond to a backlog of e-mail when I saw this on your profile page and just had to comment. What a truly fabulous find and fortutious capture! Love how you can see all the wonderful details of the tiny mantis. Because of the composition one can also get an appreciation of size. The color of the rose (white being symbolically linked with being etheral, innocence, purity, and delicate), the soft folds of the flower and the small insect carefully balanced upon the petal are ALL elements that speak of a delicate nature. Well done composition and capture.

What a shot. Love the colors, and the ugly bug with the beautiful rose. Hope it does well for you.

Beautiful DOF. Very interesting critter. It probably looked good with a greater DOF too. I can barely make out the water drops on the rose.

Great capture. The flower itself would have been a nice "delicate" entry, but the juxtaposition of the young praying mantis on the soft peddles really made the shot. Great find!

What an incredible shot to show the fragile beauty of something I would normally cringe at. This must be an amazing shot to make me see beauty in a bug!! 9

Absolutely stunning, down the expression on his eyes. The most wonderful depth of field. The rose's colour just adds to the "delicacy". I love it.
